2023 IEEE AFRICON CALL FOR PAPERS, REVIEWERS AND SPECIAL SESSIONS

Greetings from the 2023 IEEE Africon Technical Program Committee,

I hope this email finds you well.

IEEE AFRICON is the IEEE Region 8 flagship conference on the African continent that provide a platform for academia and industry professionals from all over the world to share ideas, present their latest research and to network. The conference covers the full spectrum of IEEE activities. The conference is held once every two years.

The 16th IEEE AFRICON is co-sponsored by IEEE Region 8 and IEEE Kenya Section and will be hosted by the IEEE Kenya Section in Nairobi, Kenya from September 20th to 22nd 2023. The theme of the conference is Advancing Technology in Africa Towards Presence on the Global Stage.

Track 3: Wireless Communication Systems, Antennas Systems, Microwave Systems and Propagation Models
Track 4: Innovations for Digital Transformation and Industrial Development and Engineering Education                     
Track 5: Industrial Electronics, Control, Autonomous Systems, Instrumentation, Biomedical Engineering, and Consumer Applications
Track 6: Electrical Power & Energy Systems, Renewable Energy Technologies, and Distributed Generation
Track 7: Short papers and Extended Abstracts on the above 6 tracks.

AUTHOR GUIDELINES:
For AFRICON 2023 three types of submissions have been invited for presentation:
1. Full papers – mature results or completed projects and should not exceed 6 pages
2. Short papers – targeting Industry players, practitioners, policy makers and private sector actors – interim results, experiences and perspectives and should be up to 3 pages in length including a short reference section.
Industry players, practitioners, policy makers and private sector actors are encouraged to share best practices, case studies and perspectives from practice in the field.
3. Extended abstracts - The category contains references, comparisons to related works, proofs of key theorems and other details up-to 1 page in length.

Prospective authors are invited to submit original and high-quality work for presentation at the conference and are highly encouraged to focus on key areas relevant to Africa. All papers will be checked for plagiarism.

Accepted full and short papers presented during the conference will be submitted for publication in IEEE Xplore®.

 

CALL FOR REVIEWERS FOR FULL AND SHORT PAPERS 

We also encourage you to register to serve as a member of The Technical Program Review Committee for the 2023 IEEE Africon Conference and also invite your colleagues to join the team.

Papers will be submitted directly to each track via the EasyChair online submission system. As with the submission of papers, reviewing of the papers will be done online on EasyChair. All reviewers will be guided by the respective Track Chairs on the process.

If you agree to review, please expect to receive 2 or 3 papers by March 6th 2023. You should be available to complete the reviews to abide by the notification schedules.

We do hope that you will find the time to assist us with this important review process, and also consider submitting a paper to the conference.
