These new tools, facilitated by Blockchain technologies, are in trend, and it is not for less. Since the beginning of Bitcoin in 2008, this industry has impacted economies globally, supporting infrastructures in companies of all kinds and has started the new era of the internet, known as Web3. The Blockchain market is expected to increase in value over 1,300% by the year 2026. Less than 2% of the world's population currently know how to use these technologies and less than 0.3% know how to implement them, which is an indicator that it is barely the start, take advantage of this opportunity.

The Web3 Hackathon is an event sponsored by the Center for Entrepreneurs (CPE) and the IEEE Blockchain Initiative. The event is scheduled to take place from August 25 to 28, 2022 and has the mission of encouraging local talent, especially those with a technical focus, to perform as professionals in the Web3 industry together with companies based in Puerto Rico. It consists of activities related to Blockchain technologies, including competitive challenges and over $15,000 in prizes to promote innovation by applying software engineering, project management and business model design.

There will be technical workshops on different topics including:

• Solidity (Language on which the Ethereum ecosystem is based)
• Scaffold ETH (architecture for the creation of decentralized applications)
• Technical seminars from our sponsors (Waterfall Protocol, Casper Labs, etc.)

The invitation is extended to curious people who seek to expand their perspective on Web3 topics, since these are tools with great possibilities in many business and industrial fields. You are more than welcome to the event to connect with specialists and learn how Blockchain technologies are really revolutionizing the markets. **

In addition, a job fair will be held so that companies based in Puerto Rico can expose themselves to a range of professionals looking for opportunities in this industry.
