Abstract of talk
Wheeled rovers have been successfully deployed on the Moon and on Mars. They operate semi-autonomously in very harsh environments. One of the critical aspects in the design of such rovers is "mobility on uneven hard and soft terrains". In this talk we will examine features in existing and proposed rovers, for enhancing mobility.
Profile of the speaker
Prof. Kurien Issac K. is a Senior Professor at Department of Aerospace Engineering, Indian Institute of Space Science and Technology, Thiruvananthapuram since July 2009. Before that he was a faculty at the Indian Institute of Technology Bombay. His research focuses on Robotics, Kinematics of Mechanisms, Dynamics of Rigid Body Systems, Optimal Design, Automatic Control, Aids for Rehabilitation etc. He has got many international journal and conference publications to his credit.
