Controlled-polarity transistors: higher density and better control

This talk will explain the operation and advantages of polarity-controlled transistors, that leverage electrostatic doping as a means of differentiating N and P transistors. Such transistors have been realized and characterized in silicon, as well as in other materials, such as, for example, 2-dimensional materials. I will show how these transistors can be used to achieve very compact topologies to realize exclusive-or and majority functions, thus enabling smaller and faster operations, especially in arithmetic blocks.
