A reminder to vote in Richmond Section has been sent.   I am providing an update to the biographies of the candidates.

Allen Jones is running for another term as chair of the section.

BIO:

I am retired after having worked as a Product Development Engineering Manager for several electronics manufacturers, as a Principal Engineer, as a project manager at both the local and global level. My professional area of focus has been on embedded systems, control systems, and their applications in energy management/Smart Grid applications. In that role, I have served as a US Delegate to two committees (one ISO and one IEC committee) developing standards dealing with the integration of facilities and the Smart Grid. I have a Bachelors degree from Virginia Tech in electrical engineering. I was the founding Chair of the Richmond Chapter of the Computer Society. I currently serve as the Chair of the IEEE Richmond Section and the Projects Coordinator for IEEE Region 3 (Southeast US).

I am currently the Treasurer of the Richmond Chapter of the Computer Society.

James Imanian is running for secretary/treasurer of the section.

BIO:

I am the leader of the Cyber Threat Intelligence Integration Center at SAIC. I am an executive with 28 years of experience in aviation and cyberspace operations as well as risk management in these areas. Before transitioning to industry, I served as a naval officer in numerous leadership roles including tours at USFLEETCYBERCOM and the Department of Homeland Security’s National Cybersecurity and Communication Integration Center. While in the Navy I led initiatives in cyber security, assessment and authorization, cyberspace strategy and policy, system assurance, and risk management. 

I have served as the Chair and Secretary for the IEEE Richmond Section.  I currently serve as the Region 3 Area 1 Chair and Richmond Section Secretary and the Vice Chair of the Richmond Chapter of the Computer Society.
