Éstas nuevas herramientas, facilitadas por las tecnologías Blockchain, están en tendencia y no es para menos. Desde los inicios de Bitcoin en el 2008, ésta industria ha impactado economías globalmente sosteniendo infraestructuras en empresas de todo tipo y han dado inicio a la nueva era del internet, conocida como  Web3.  Se espera que el mercado de Blockchain aumente en valor sobre  1,300% para el año 2026. Menos del  2% de la población mundial actualmente sabe cómo utilizar estas tecnologías y menos del 0 .3% sabe cómo implementarlas, lo cual es indicador de que apenas es el comienzo, aprovecha esta oportunidad.

El  Web3 Hackathon  es un evento auspiciado por el Centro Para Emprendedores (CPE) y la IEEE de Puerto Rico. El evento está pautado para realizarse del  25 al 28 de agosto del 2022 y tiene la misión de incentivar al talento local, en especial aquel con enfoque técnico, a realizarse como profesionales en la industria de Web3 junto a compañías basadas en Puerto Rico. El mismo consiste en actividades pertinentes a las tecnologías Blockchain, incluyendo retos competitivos y  sobre $15,000 en premios para promover la innovación aplicando ingeniería de software, gerencia de proyectos y diseño de modelos de negocios. 

Habrá talleres técnicos de diferentes temas incluyendo:

• Solidity (Lenguaje en el que se basa el ecosistema de Ethereum)
• Scaffold ETH (arquitectura para la creación de aplicaciones descentralizadas)
• Seminarios técnicos de nuestros auspiciadores (Waterfall Protocol, Casper Labs, etc.)

 ** No necesitas tener experiencia previa de programación en Blockchain para participar del evento, si tienes conocimientos básicos en desarrollo de aplicaciones web y móviles podrás resolver los retos de la competencia. **

Para el  público general, se proveerán una variedad de seminarios incluyendo:

• Introducción a Blockchain y de cómo unirte a este mundo.
• Introducción a finanzas descentralizadas.
• Que es el Metaverso.
• Non-Fungible Tokens (NFT’s)

** La invitación es extendida a personas curiosas que buscan expandir su perspectiva en temas de Web3, ya que estás son herramientas con grandes posibilidades en muchos ámbito empresariales e industriales. Están más que bienvenidos al evento para conectar con especialistas y conocer cómo realmente las tecnologías Blockchain están revolucionando los mercados. **

 Además, se estará realizando una  feria de empleo para que compañías con base en Puerto Rico puedan exponerse a una gama de profesionales en busca de oportunidades en esta industria.

These new tools, facilitated by Blockchain technologies, are in trend and it is not for less. Since the beginning of Bitcoin in 2008, this industry has impacted economies globally, supporting infrastructures in companies of all kinds and has started the new era of the internet, known as Web3. The Blockchain market is expected to increase in value over 1,300% by the year 2026. Less than 2% of the world's population currently know how to use these technologies and less than 0.3% know how to implement them, which is an indicator that it is barely the start, take advantage of this opportunity.

The Web3 Hackathon is an event sponsored by the Center for Entrepreneurs (CPE) and the IEEE of Puerto Rico. The event is scheduled to take scheduled from August 25 to 28, 2022 and has the mission of encouraging local talent, especially those with a technical focus, to perform as professionals in the Web3 industry together with companies based in Puerto Rico. It consists of activities related to Blockchain technologies, including competitive challenges and over $15,000 in prizes to promote innovation by applying software engineering, project management and business model design.

Solidity (Language on which the Ethereum ecosystem is based)
Scaffold ETH (architecture for the creation of decentralized applications)
Technical seminars from our sponsors (Waterfall Protocol, Casper Labs, etc.)
