Reminder: IEEE Region 4 Industry Practicing Professionals invited to “Industry Day"

REMINDER: INDUSTRY DAY EVENT!!

IEEE Region 4 invites all Industry Practicing Professionals to attend “Industry Day” on Friday, May 20, 2022. You can experience a full day including two Tutorials, a Workshop, an International Keynote Speech, Technical Paper Presentations, Food, and Networking.

IEEE Region 4 and the conference organizing committee are proud to announce the industry engagement portion of our 22nd Annual IEEE INTERNATIONAL CONFERENCE ON ELECTRO INFORMATION TECHNOLOGY (eit2022) which will be held on May 19 - 21, 2022 at Minnesota State University, Mankato, MN.

For the special reduced registration fee of $50 for IEEE members and $75 for non-IEEE members, the following is included for those not presenting a technical paper for publication in IEEE Xplore:

On Friday, May 20 there will be two tutorials and a workshop which should be of interest to many Industry Practicing Professionals…

Electronic Control Units Development: V-Cycle presented by Dr. Tarek Lahdhiri, PhD, PE, PMP, BB-DFSS, SM-IEEE; Strategy Leader, General Motors LLC in Warren, Michigan.

  • This tutorial introduces the V-Cycle for the development of Electronic Control Units (ECU) in industrial applications. it will explain the different phases of the V-cycle: Starting with the requirements, Modeling, rapid-prototyping, Code generations, Hardware-in-the-loop (HIL) testing, and calibration. Participants will learn basic techniques and tools used in the V-cycle. The tutorial will include several examples related to automotive applications.

Assessing Security Posture Using Security Metrics presented by Dr. Mariana Hentea, PhD and MS in Computer Science, MS in Computer Engineering, and BS in Electrical Engineering.

  • Information security metrics are an important factor in making sound decisions about various aspects of security, ranging from the design of security architectures and controls to the effectiveness and efficiency of security operations.
  • This tutorial addresses different categories of security metrics and areas of use that could help organizations establish, assess, and maintain secure systems. Also, the tutorial identifies one important area - the collection of security measurements including challenges such as the confidence and uncertainty of derived metrics needed for the analysis of the security posture of an organization or of system implementation and operational environment.

Building Cloud Applications Using Distributed Architecture presented by Dr. Vivek Varma, BS and MS degrees in Engineering from the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Roorkee, and PhD from The University of Melbourne; NielsenIQ.

  • The goal of this workshop is to familiarize participants with the cloud-based distributed architecture approach to build scalable and high-performance applications. A few representative industry examples will be taken to demonstrate the practical application by utilizing market leading technology and tools. The workshop includes hands-on exercises for participants so they will need access to a personal computer. Basic understanding of developing software and programming concepts is necessary for full appreciation of the workshop material.

Included in the reduced registration fee of $50 for IEEE members and $75 for non-IEEE members, Industry Attendees will be able to enjoy breakfast, lunch and snacks as well as a conference keynote. The awards banquet in the evening is an additional $50 if you wish to attend. You can also take advantage of networking opportunities.
