IEEE EIT Conference Events of Interest to Industry Practicing Professionals

An IEEE Region 4 Conference Invites Industry Practicing Professionals for one or two days of Tutorials and/or a Workshop as well as the experience of an IEEE Conference including  Keynote Speeches, Technical Paper Presentations, and great Food.

IEEE Region 4 and the conference organizing committee are proud to announce the industry engagement portion of our 22nd Annual conference. The 22nd Annual IEEE INTERNATIONAL CONFERENCE ON ELECTRO INFORMATION TECHNOLOGY (eit2022) will be held on May 19 - 21, 2022 at Minnesota State University, Mankato, MN.

For the special reduced registration fee of $50 per day for IEEE members and $75 per day for non-IEEE members who are not authors of technical papers to be presented and for publication in IEEE Xplore, the following is included:

Friday, May 20 there will be two tutorials which will be of interest to many Industry Practicing Professionals…

Electronic Control Units Development: V-Cycle presented by Dr. Tarek Lahdhiri, PhD, PE, PMP, BB-DFSS, SM-IEEE; Strategy Leader
General Motors LLC in Warren, Michigan.

  • This tutorial introduces the V-Cycle for the development of Electronic Control Units (ECU) in industrial applications. it will explain the different phases of the V-cycle: Starting with the requirements, Modeling, rapid-prototyping, Code generations, Hardware-in-the-loop (HIL) testing, and calibration. Participants will learn basic techniques and tools used in the V-cycle. The tutorial will include several examples related to automotive applications.

Assessing Security Posture Using Security Metrics presented by Mariana Hentea, PhD and MS in Computer Science, MS in Computer Engineering, and BS in Electrical Engineering.

  • Information security metrics are an important factor in making sound decisions about various aspects of security, ranging from the design of security architectures and controls to the effectiveness and efficiency of security operations.
  • This tutorial addresses different categories of security metrics and areas of use that could help organizations establish, assess, and maintain secure systems. Also, the tutorial identifies one important area - the collection of security measurements including challenges such as the confidence and uncertainty of derived metrics needed for the analysis of the security posture of an organization or of system implementation and operational environment.

Included in the reduced single day registration fee of $50 for IEEE members and $75 for non-IEEE members, Industry Attendees will be able to enjoy breakfast, lunch and snacks as well as aa conference keynote,  technical paper sessions and a student poster session. The awards banquet in the evening is not included. In addition, take advantage of networking opportunities with other conference attendees.

Saturday, May 21 there will be a two-hour Workshop and Industrial Panel Discussion which may be of interest to many Industry Practicing Professionals…

Building Cloud Applications Using Distributed Architecture presented by Vivek Varma, BS and MS degrees in Engineering from the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Roorkee, and PhD from The University of Melbourne; NielsenIQ.

  • The goal of this workshop is to familiarize participants with the cloud-based distributed architecture approach to build scalable and high-performance applications. A few representative industry examples will be taken to demonstrate the practical application by utilizing market leading technology and tools. The workshop includes hands-on exercises for participants so they will need access to a personal computer. Basic understanding of developing software and programming concepts is necessary for full appreciation of the workshop material.

Industrial Panel Discussion – Representatives from various Industries will discuss the following tentative topics:

  • Simulation software migration from signal to power integrity
  • IOT and energy storage for distributed IOT
  • 6G challenges and future innovation in digital communications

Included in the reduced single day registration fee of $50 for IEEE members and $75 for non-IEEE members, Industry Attendees will be able to enjoy breakfast, lunch and snacks as well as a conference keynote and technical paper sessions. In addition, take advantage of networking opportunities with other conference attendees.
