Indoor Air Quality in Commercial Buildings: Research Findings and in Field Case Studies
Relatively little is known about the chemical composition of indoor air. Tim will describe recent measurements of a wide range of gases and particulates in the indoor environment. Concentrations of identified chemicals will be evaluated against existing standards and known causal paths to health complications. This knowledge can be used to determine and validate optimized strategies (e.g., source elimination, ventilation, filtering) resulting in improved health and productivity in a sustainable way.
Matt will review case studies of recent indoor air quality projects performed during the COVID-19 pandemic. We look at commercial offices, medical offices and worship facilities where we have gathered trend data, before and after GPS ionization systems, to help clients mitigate risk of transmission. The approach abides by the ASHRAE and CDC guidelines, while keeping an eye on energy consumption and the original design of the building.
